Social Investment

Taking care of people, the planet, and the future

To positively impact the world, we enable or enhance social initiatives that contribute to the
overall health of people in vulnerable situations, so they can live longer and better. We rely on
four avenues of Social Investment funding, all focused on health: donation of our own
resources, derived from 1.0% of the company's net profit from the previous year; donations from
clients, made through the sale of Sorria copies and Solidarity Change; donation of products
close to their expiration date (DOA); and tax incentives.

Since 2021, we have allocated 1% of our net profit to the Company's Social Investment area.
This contribution represents our commitment to promoting overall health and well-being in the
communities where we operate.

Client donations are only possible through the work of our people. Every day, the pharmacy
employees help build the donation culture in Brazil by offering clients the opportunity to donate
through two tools:

  • Sorria

The Sorria brand, which consists of a collection of books on overall health, well-being, and
quality of life, in addition to content available on digital platforms, has made a difference as a
social product sold in the country. Sales of each title in the collection already generate
approximately R$ 1.5 million in donations.
  • Troco Solidário
Troco Solidário allows clients to round up their change when making a cash purchase at any of
our more than 3,000 pharmacies across all Brazilian states. The cents are donated to AACD
    and Ação da Cidadania.

The DOA project makes donations of products and medicines close to their expiration date and
suitable for use, to social organizations that assist people in vulnerable situations. By avoiding
incineration, the donation of these products generates a positive social impact and savings on
reverse logistics and incineration.

With the goal of expanding RD Saúde's contribution to society, we invest in projects primarily
related to health through tax incentive laws.

Emergency Fund

We created a fund to support employees and their families in emergency situations such as natural disasters, floods, fires, illnesses, or situations where they are at risk. Our entire team is encouraged to donate through payroll, monthly, or to make occasional donations throughout the year. For every R$ 1 donated by an employee to the Fund, RD Saúde doubles the amount.

Volunteering Program

We engage our people to live a culture of positive impact. Therefore, we invest in internal communication, campaigns to ensure everyone participates in volunteer initiatives, and helps them realize the reach and value of social development actions. Various volunteering initiatives include competitions, workgroups, and collection drives for hygiene items, food, and warm clothing.
