Since the launch of our Sustainability Strategy 2030 in 2021, RD Saúde has been dedicated to advancing environmental, social, and governance initiatives. Our ambition is to become the group that contributes the most to a healthier society in Brazil by 2030.
We aim to go beyond the commercialization of medicines, promoting health and disease prevention, supporting and encouraging the professional and personal development of our people, and reducing our environmental impact. We believe that by doing so, we are working towards building a healthier world every day.
To achieve this, our Sustainability Strategy encompasses three pillars of action.
Our Commitments:
1. Improve employees’ health metrics.
2. Achieve a favorability index of at least 80% for a healthy work environment, based on WHO pillars.
3. Enhance the health metrics of customers connected to the health platform.
4. Reach 3 million people in situations of social vulnerability through holistic health initiatives.
5. Engage 3 million customers in our health services by 2030, including primary care.
6. Ensure that 16% of the customer base regularly purchases products that promote healthy living or have sustainability attributes.
7. Achieve 100% of our private-label cosmetic and food products free of components deemed controversial.
8. Invest at least 1% of net profit in holistic health projects annually until 2030.
Our Commitments:
9. Achieve at least 50% representation of women across all functional categories by 2030;
10. Ensure at least 50% representation of Black individuals in leadership positions by 2030;
11. Employ 5% of people with disabilities within RD’s workforce and establish professional development strategies;
12. Achieve 6% representation of individuals aged 50+ at RD;
13. Create an environment rated by employees with a 90% satisfaction score regarding inclusion at pharmacies, RD Saúde Campus, and distribution centers;
14. Support the education of 10,000 professionals in undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses with RD incentives, with at least 90% focused on health-related programs;
15. Train 40,000 employees through programs that impact their professional careers and/or develop future-ready skills;
16. Provide 150,000 cumulative income-increasing opportunities by 2030;
Our Commitments:
17. Use at least 40% recycled materials in private-label packaging by 2030;
18. Eliminate the use of landfills in operations (RD Saúde Campus, distribution centers, and construction projects);
19. Collect 3,000 tons of pharmaceutical waste by 2030 (excluding boxes and leaflets);
20. Reduce absolute GHG emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) in alignment with the 1.5ºC pathway, using 2021 as the base year;
21. Engage suppliers responsible for emissions from purchased goods and services (Category 1) to set science-based targets by 2030;
22. Achieve 100% of operations powered by renewable energy.
Our Bylaws establish that decisions made by shareholders and administrators must always consider the short- and long-term interests of RD Saúde and its shareholders, as well as the economic, social, environmental, and legal impacts, both short- and long-term, on our professionals, third parties, suppliers, consumers, and creditors, as well as the communities where we operate.
